Dr. M. A. Shekar is a renowned  figure in the Indian medical landscape, particularly in the domain of diabetes  and endocrinology. Presently, he serves as the Vice Chancellor of  Adichunchanagiri University, responsible for steering its academic vision. He  received his MBBS (1981) and MD (Internal Medicine, 1985) from the prestigious  Government Medical College, Mysore, and the University of Mysore, respectively,  establishing a solid foundation for his illustrious career. In recognition of  his outstanding contributions, he was conferred with FRCP (Edinburgh, 2019).

C. Roy Award and recognition as a "Best Teacher" by Rajiv  Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangalore. His dedication to  diabetes care has been acknowledged with a "Lifetime Achievement"  award by the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India's Karnataka  Chapter. His pursuit of knowledge is evident in his active memberships in  numerous professional bodies, including the International Diabetes Federation  and the Telemedicine Society of India. He has actively contributed to the  medical community by presenting research and delivering lectures at national  and state conferences. Dr. Shekar's life extends beyond the confines of  medicine.
